  Obituaries: Robert L. Selmon

  Obituaries Anonymous writes "Robert L. Selmon, 69, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away, November 2, 2009, at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born, January 2, 1940, in New Matamoras, OH, a son of Helen  Barker Selmon of Woodsfield, OH, and the late Jess Selmon. He was a member of the Church of Christ, was retired from the Ormet Corporation after 30 plus years service, retiring in 1996. He was an auctioneer and a realtor. He was a member of the National Auctioneer Association and the National Association of Realtors. He was a member of the American Uni0n Lodge #1 F. & A. M. of Marietta, OH, a 32 degree mason, Valley of Cambridge, and a member of the Washington County Scottish Rite Club. He loved to read and enjoyed beagle dogs.


In addition to his mother, he is survived b his wife of 50 years, Sherry Laird Selmon, daughter, Roberta Ann “Bobbi Sayre, and her husband, Steven of Dexter City, OH, grandson, David A. Fitzgerald, II and his wife, Kelley of Cincinnati, OH, and a great granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth Fitzgerald, brothers and sisters, Ruby Ring (his twin), and her husband, Duane, and Grace King all of Graysville, OH, George Selmon and his wife, Judy of Chester, WV, Wilma Selmon and Walter Selmon both of East Liverpool, OH, his very special beagle, “Suzi”, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Grace Barker, who helped raised him.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held, Friday, November 6, 2009, at 8 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Brent Gallaher officiating.  It was Bob’s wishes to be cremated. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P. M. Friday at the funeral home.
Urnment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family requests that memorial contributions maybe made to the donor’s choice. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
