Anonymous writes "Matamoras area press releases for the weeks of November 6th - December 31st:
On 28 Dec 09 Bill McFall, age 51, 1218 Williamson Avenue,
New Matamoras, reported he was away from his residence between
midnight and 3 am and during that period an unknown suspect(s)
broke a window to gain entry to his home. Inventorying his
belongings, Mr. McFall believes the only missing item is a
Remington twelve gauge shotgun. This case remains under investigation. "

Ohio's Popular Deer-Gun Season Opens November 30
COLUMBUS, OH
- Ohio's popular deer-gun season opens statewide on Monday, November
30, offering hunters a full week to harvest a whitetail. The upcoming
season will again include an extra weekend of gun hunting on December
19-20, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR)
Division of Wildlife.

Sheriffs Report: Sheriff"s Report
Matamoras area press releases for the weeks of September 26th - November 6th:
Robin Louise Knowlton, age 43, 911 Park Avenue, New Matamoras,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Knowlton was arrested at the New Matamoras
pool by Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Nov 09 at
10:00 pm.

July 26, 1931, in Big Run, Wetzel County, WV, a daughter of the late
Hobart and Daisy Brookover Locke. She was a 1949 graduate of Magnolia
High School, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American
Legion Post 378. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New
Matamoras and she was the owner and operator of the former Pat’s
Flowers of New Matamoras."

Anonymous writes "Robert L. Selmon, 69, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away, November 2, 2009, at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born, January 2, 1940, in New Matamoras, OH, a son of Helen Barker Selmon of Woodsfield, OH, and the late Jess Selmon. He was a member of the Church of Christ, was retired from the Ormet Corporation after 30 plus years service, retiring in 1996. He was an auctioneer and a realtor. He was a member of the National Auctioneer Association and the National Association of Realtors. He was a member of the American Uni0n Lodge #1 F. & A. M. of Marietta, OH, a 32 degree mason, Valley of Cambridge, and a member of the Washington County Scottish Rite Club. He loved to read and enjoyed beagle dogs.

Obituaries: Lowell F. King, Sr.
Anonymous writes "Lowell F. King, Sr., 81, of New Matamoras, OH, went home to be with the Lord, November 1, 2009. He was born, November 26, 1927, in Shea, Washington County, OH, a son of the late Floyd Herbert and Vergie Laurel Rutherford King. He was a charter member and had been a Deacon for 49 years of the Faith Gospel Church. He had been also Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He was retired from the American Cyanamid and now Cytec after 38 years as a carpenter. He served on the Frontier Local School Board of Education for 23 years, and was a former President. He served on the Board of the Willow Island Federal Credit Uni0n and served on the board of the Washington County Joint Vocational School. He was a member of the International Chemical Workers Uni0n, and was a U. S. Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II. He enjoyed watching his family play sports.
